Wondering about my title post? Well, it’s about Big Bang’s latest song. It’s been released about 2 weeks ago. Monster MV has now reached a monstrous 10 million views on Youtube.
Some would ask if I do understand the song. My heart understands it by listening to the beat and the emotions of the voices. My mind is able to process it by the English translations. Now, I would say YES! I believe that music is a universal language. We have our own taste of music but generally we all love music.
On to the music video, it is really a monstrous music video. Personally, I always love how Big Bang’s music videos are conceptualized. I have my own interpretation of their Monster’s MV concept.
The five members of Big Bang are monsters in their own ways.
G-dragon
He is a devil here with one horn. He was once told by some netizens that he is the one who is a bad one in their group and a bad influence in relation to his weed incident. One horn signifies that he knows that he has a devil side and he’s not perfect. He is a normal person who commits mistakes just like us and each one has a devil side. Aside from the devil costume, he has a so called mushroom hair covering his eyes. It was like he wants to avoid the judging eyes of people but he can’t because he choose to face them courageously and prove to everyone that he’s not a monster as what they think he is.
TOP
A vampire. Vampires do not age. TOP is a 10 year old boy trapped in a body of a 24 year old man. This man acts as a charismatic man when performing but when not he’s back to his kid self. With that well-sculpted face, this man looks forever young. Some thinks he’s snob and has a cold attitude but in reality he’s not.
DAESUNG
A werewolf. Behind that well built body is a soft heart of a smiling angel. He may look so strong but in reality he is hurting and keeping it to his self. He once thought of suicide in order to escape. I think some thought that he’s like a superman thinking he is not hurting so some netizens keeps on bashing him.
SEUNGRI
A mad scientist. I really have no idea on what character Seungri is trying to portray in the MV. I’ve read in one of the comments on YT that he’s like a mad scientist and I was convinced. haha Kidding aside, this maknae talks a lot. He sometimes don’t know when not to talk. He is like a scientist who wants to discover new things. He’s not afraid even in a young age. Even if people would criticize his new discoveries, he’ll still want to share it. Some doesn’t appreciate this attitude of him. Some thinks he’s Mr. Know It All.
TAEYANG
A bull. Well with that Mickey Mouse hair, I think he’s a bull. With that sculptured body, he’s physically strong and some would think he’s aggressive just like a bull. But he’s the opposite. He never had a girlfriend (as what he claims). He just needs to be known better and discover his great passion in life. So girls don’t be afraid of him. haha
MYSELF
Well, I’m not part of the MV. I am my own monster (not a specific one). My weak personality is killing me. I have a lot of fears but I’m overcoming it with the help of God. I always utter this when I feel afraid, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid.”
The line that hit my heart in the song Monster:
Everyone may look at me with judging eyes, but what really hurts is the fact that you have become a part of that ‘everyone
What hurts most is being judged, but it becomes more worst when someone that you thought will be on your side when everyone judged you became part of that everyone.
We may not be monsters in real life but we do have a monstrous attitude in each one of us. We can overcome it and become better. Choose to be a better person. People be careful and always give a person a benefit of a doubt. You may know the story, but not the whole story. You may know what happened, but you’ll never know what he/she’s been through. Don’t ever judge. Simply remember the Golden Rule.

Synopsis
‘City Hunter’ is an original script based on the world-famous novel by Japan’s Tsukasa Hojo. Since it became public that Korea would be the first remake of this story into a drama, ‘City Hunter’ has been receiving worldwide attention. ‘City Hunter’ has switched the setting from Tokyo 1980 to Seoul 2011, and according to the original story structure, the protagonist becomes a city hunter and his character develops while resolving gratifying cases.
The story takes place in Seoul, 2011. Lee Yoon Sung is a talented MIT-graduate who works on the international communications team in the Blue House. He plans revenge on five politicians who caused his father’s death with his surrogate father Lee Jin Pyo and eventually becomes a “City Hunter.”

Lee Min Ho, my first Korean actor crush, will be back soon on Philippine Primetime TV via City Hunter. I’m so glad that ABS-CBN got this drama.
This drama is so epic! You can’t stop watching it. Lee Min Ho worked so hard on this. He underwent martial arts training for this drama. The production also put a great effort on this drama. Laki ng budget! They used Apple gadgets unlike other Kdramas which used Android phones. Gadgets FTW! :-)) They even had shooting in Thailand. Fully packed with action scenes! Promise! :-)
I really can say that this is one of the great Kdramas I’ve ever watched. Lee Min Ho is so versatile. I really like his choice of projects. He always make sure that he’ll cater a new Lee Min Ho in each project he’ll do.

Plot:
A worldwide criminal syndicate known as Heugsahoe exists. Their boss is Choi Hee-Gon.
In 2008, the leader of the Intelligence Investigation Team of the Maritime Police, Kwon Jung-Ryool (Lee Sung-Jae), forms a secret investigation team to capture crime boss Choi Hee-Gon. Soon, Jung-Ryool gets closer and closer to capturing Choi Hee-Gon. Then, Jung-Ryool’s wife Min-Jung suddenly goes missing. Her dead body is then thrown in front of Jung-Ryool. Soon after, other family members involved in the undercover operation are killed.
Seon-Woo (Choi Si-Won) goes undercover on Jung-Ryool’s order. Seon-Woo can’t stop the mission, even though there’s continuous threats on his life. Soon, a policewoman who investigates Seon-Woo is killed. It’s clear the the woman’s murder was committed by crime boss Choi Hee-Gon, but evidence is still lacking for his arrest. Finally, the undercover operation is abandoned.
2011 - 3 years later, Jung-Ryool appears obsessed with his job … trying to forget the guilt he feels over the death of his wife. With the help of Hyun Hae-Jung (Jin Hee-Kyung) and a director of the maritime police, Jung-Ryool forms another special investigation team. To avoid the attention of others inside the maritime police and crime boss Choi Hee-Gon, the special investigation team is disguised as the #9 investigation team which is responsible for unsolved cases.
Seon-Woo has been demoted to the country maritime police office in Gunsan City. There, Seon-Woo busts an illegal trafficking organization and runs off with their smuggled goods. Seon-Woo now becomes a fugitive. This is part of Jung-Ryool and Seon-Woo’s master plan to catch Choi Hee-Gon. They hope to go through middle man Jung Deok-Soo, nicknamed Popeye. Seon-Woo approaches Popeye with his stolen goods, but Popeye finds out the truth. Seon-Woo’s life is now in danger. He is saved with the help tactical team leader Kang Eun-Chul (U-Know Yunho). Seon-Woo and Kang Eun-Chul were former colleagues.
Seon-Woo now joins the #9 investigation team. Seon-Woo also takes an interest in Corporal Soo-Yoon (Lee Si-Young). Meanwhile, Popeye kidnaps Kang Eun-Chul. The abduction of Kang Eun-Chul brings back memories of the slain police officer several years earlier.

Updated: I finished watching this Kdrama last Wednesday. All I can say is that, I was bored with the flow of story since I was expecting more action scenes. This is the effect of City Hunter to me. haha! I expected too much action from this drama since Siwon has a background on martial arts. As far as I know, he’s a 4th degree master in taekwondo. What I like from Poseidon and City Hunter is that the female lead shows how great a woman is and can do what guys can. I really wanted to learn martial arts since I was young but I was so lazy.
One thing that is amazing on this drama was the high-tech equipment of the Coast Guard Korea plus the aerial shots. How I wish Philippines have those high-tech equipment.

This man knows how to work hard, from a low rank tennis player to being the world’s no.1! He is now ranked no.2 after being defeated by Djokovic last US open.
Watch the video and know how great this man is. One funny thing, when I’ve seen his Kia commercial in Philippine TV all I was able to say was “THAT’S RAFAEL NADAL!” I really shouted! haha! My mom’s face was like, “what’s the big deal?” haha I can’t find that video online.

Big Bang apologizes to VIPs at YG Family Concert
VIPs worldwide drew a sigh of relief when YG Entertainment announced earlier this week that Big Bang would be performing as five at the YG Family Concert this weekend. The quintet hadn’t performed together since “Love Song“ promotions in April due to Daesung‘s motorcycle accident, G-Dragon‘s marijuana scandal and both members’ subsequent hiatuses from the industry this year.
In the middle of the concert, resident rapper T.O.P expressed, “It’s incredible to have all five members of Big Bang united on one stage. I’m happy to be here to celebrate YG Entertainment’s fifteenth anniversary. This has been a busy year for YG Entertainment, but you have all stayed with and supported us and we thank you.”
Daesung opened up, saying, “It’s been a while since I’ve performed on the stage. I’m just grateful to be here. The difficulties I experienced gave me a chance to realize how important music and the stage are to me. I will always be grateful to be on stage.”
“I’m sorry for creating so much trouble due to my mistake,” G-Dragon apologized. “I’ll be careful to not have this repeat again. I think I can only express my appreciation by giving better music and performances. I’ll do my best to give my fans a big present.”
Despite the hardships that Big Bang has encountered and overcome this year, it’s safe to say that fans are thrilled and welcoming the quintet back with open arms.
