Last week was my 3rd week of being in the white world. It marked the beginning of our full time duty in the areas. We will no longer be inside the training room doing nursing workshops and playing games during breaks.
We had our 3 weeks ‘orientation’ before being fully deployed to our areas. It was great because it made us explore this white world being guided with bright lights.

Cha’s post birthday celebration. We surprised her with a birthday cake.
Within 3 weeks, I’ve met new lovely people. I gained 5 new friends. Cha is my official ‘tawa’ buddy. Aljon is the business minded one. Ramon is a commercial model. Rhej is my Kpop buddy. MA is the neutralizer. haha We can talk about the most random things from telenovelas, cartoons/animes, politics, science/fiction and a lot more!

My new friends inside the training room | Key chains from Cha.
On our last day of being inside the training room, Cha gave us slipper key chains. For me, the slipper symbolizes the humility that we need to bring throughout our own travel in this white world and we will still be linked together with the chain of our friendship. May we all have a good travel.
Gonna miss being inside the training room, laughing with them and discovering new things about each other. Did I mention that everyone in our batch thinks that I’m madaldal and so kulit?haha At least no impressions of being snob! haha Everyone seems easy to be with.
To end this post, gonna share to you my notebook’s personalized back cover.

Happy April 1st!

I wish I have a time machine. Can someone lend me one? haha

My cousin and I have the same watch. Thank you Ninang Jenny!:-)
Time flies so fast. I’m turning 21 this coming Valentine’s day. It’s been almost 6 months since I passed the nursing board exam.
All I can do now is to live for today and hope for the future as quoted from Edric Chen’s blog. I will seize each day.
I was so upset last week. Such a crybaby. I’m getting better each day. I always believe that everything happens for a reason.

[February 8, Wednes-date] I was with Denise, Jieneth, and Justine in Trinoma. We just had a food trip. In a span of 6 hours, we had 3 meals. haha. Talk about gluttony. Bonchon+Happy Lemon+Yellow Cab Pizza. We had a chicken overload in Bonchon. Thanks to Justine’s treat. Happy Lemon’s Cocoa with rocksalt and cheese is <3. We had Manhattan Meatlovers at Yellow cab. We talked about random things.

With my dearest Teng. :-) (Photo from Denise)

Thank you for this Teng! When I saw this, I shouted STAR! haha.
Had a great time with lovely people. I really had fun on our Wednes-date. :-)) Till next time.

What’s with the title? Nothing serious. haha. This blog entry is for my “partner in crime”, Denise/Teng/Den/Estre. Hmm, it’s her birthday today!
Okay, I’ll start enumerating things that Denise is guilty of. I’ll try to.
1. One of her simple pleasures in life is internet surfing. Their house is a WiFi zone. Vaio is her ultimate baby.

Usually, she’s online from morning till night! haha Search. Download. Spazz.
2. Twitter baby. She tweets a lot! :-)

as of 6:25PM 1/8/2012

More than 2 years of being in Twitter world. She’s actually the first person that I followed Twitter.

She can actually tweet more than a hundred a day if she wants to. [exaggerated?] Flooding your timelines. haha! I miss those times when we made Twitter as a chat room. haha It’s like no one is following us on Twitter.
3. Not a fan of texting. This is so true—-> a text from her is so precious. Nagpapaload lang yan once in a blue moon. haha
4. She’s always on diet! See-food diet!
Korean food, Thai food, Chinese food… name it!

5. Looooooves ice cream. :-)

6. Princess of aegyo? :-)) She does a lot of aegyo poses.

7. Photo addict! She has 111 albums on Facebook!

8. Nurse by profession, an actress[haha] by heart.

9. Broked her Ipod’s home button. She’s a little clumsy.

10. A YouTube enthusiast

11. An ultimate Kpop fan! hahaha Super duper guilty si Den dito. haha
I don’t have to go into detail with this one! :-)))))
SHINee,UKISS,Super Junior and more!!!!
12. Her favorite accessories are her cross necklace and her key double ring. [I just assume] I always see her wearing it. Assuming lang ako. haha.

13. She’s one of the Archies! :-)

14. She’s a Korean by heart.

15. Loves to wear shorts. You’ll rarely see her wearing jeans.

16. Dancing? She really loves dancing!

17. Be ready for her crazy ideas! :-P She can make those into reality! Hoho. That’s why we’re partner in crime.
Our greatest project! haha! Asked various artists of ABS-CBN a video message for our professor’s birthday. Pakapalan lang ng mukha ang peg. haha
18. If she wants something, she’ll do it! Who cares, right? :-) She’s always determined.
This video brings back a lot of memories. I was not in the video but I helped them with this secret project. haha I was able to experience a lot of things with her.
19. Their house is a butterfly heaven and it safe to say that her favorite color is purple.

20. She’s one of the sweetest.

Personalized gifts are the best! You can never tell how sweet Denise is unless you know her that much.
21. Thinks her birthday month this year is the most exciting one.

Additional.. she loves me! hahaha. Wohoo! I really tried to enumerate 21 things. I made it! haha
Den,
Happy birthday my dear friend!!! Our friendship has been a roller coaster ride, a love-hate relationship. Thank God we’re now okay. Thank you for the love and friendship. You’re such a great friend.
Hmm, now you’re FOREVER 21! haha. I hope all your dreams may come true. May the happiness and blessing be yours.
I love you my friend. God bless. Enjoy your day! :-)

5..4..3..2..1…. WELCOME 2012!!!
(wahaha. I just need to type this, since I can’t think of a good one. lol) Originally, this was really a long post but I accidentally clicked the back button. Only a part of my original blog entry was retrieved. :-((
Enough with that, I need to spread positivity. haha!

haha! I’m sorry for this. I just want to make one.
2011 just ended. It’s already 2012. Another 365 days to fill in with memories and adventures.
I think 2011 went by so fast, a little too fast. The year 2011 has been so memorable to me. It is the most eventful year to me. When I say eventful, I really mean it! wohoo! Great things happened to me this year.
First, I turned TWEENTEEN this year. haha Ipilit ang pagiging teenager! haha I had a 2pm-10pm duty at RMC on my birthday. Got 2 long stem red roses and a cookie from NJ and Wilson on that day. The g51 girls got roses from them. So sweet. The roses were delivered by Wilson all the way to Shaw Blvd because G51 are not together for the last duty rotation.

Post birthday celebration on the 18th of February. My group 51 family gave me Etude House products. I remember my 19th birthday, they also gave me an Etude House lip tint and a Lee Min Ho folder. During that time, my boyfriend in my dreams(hahah), Lee Min Ho, was the endorser of Etude House. They really know how much I like Lee Min Ho. haha.

Etude house products
After class, I had dinner with my F1 and F2. We are complete that day! Laine organized everything. Oha! May future na siya sa pagiging event organizer. haha! It’s so hard for us to have a get together without anyone missing. I did not pay anything, buti na lang! hahaha chos! They did not even gave me a chance to view the receipt. The dinner is their gift for me. Laine’s birthday gift to me was a Marithe +Francois Girbaud wallet.

Dinner with F1 and F2 at Gerry’s Grill

With my best buddy. :-) That’s the wallet that she gave me.
It’s not the material things that made my 20th birthday celebration memorable. It was those lovely people who always make me feel special. I thank God for them. :-) You know guys who you are, my deepest gratitude to all of you.
Second, I graduated college from Far Eastern University last April 12, 2011. Hmm. I’m not grade conscious, well on my opinion. I just always give my best in everything that I do. I don’t want to regret. So I always study hard since I was a kid. I don’t know why. I just love studying and learning a lot of new things. When I was a kid, I really cry whenever I got low on quizzes even on recitations. If I’m not contented with what I’ve said and on my scores I always cry. Well, I abandoned that attitude before I entered high school. I’m no longer that sensitive. I always give my best, even if there are times that my scores are not that high enough and even though I don’t always win on competitions, I don’t regret because I know I did my best. If I feel regretful, it means I was not able to give my best. I brought that philosophy when I entered college.

I entered college without so much thoughts on Latin honors. I just focused on my studies. With that much passion on studying and God’s help I was able to make my parents so proud of me. I know being so diligent on my studies is not enough to return all the favors that my parents gave to me. drama much. haha. Well, I always see myself as someone who still lots of things to learn. I really do! I really enjoy being with people on whom I can learn a lot.
Third, I took the greatest exam of my life last July 2 and 3. I chose the review center that I can trust. I chose ARTS. Reviewing for the board exam has been so much fun with ARTS family. I believe in them and they make us believe on ourselves. My faith has been much stronger. So on the day of the board exam, I felt not that much nervousness. I know God is with me.

My fellow ARTS-mate. :-)
L TO R: Kim, Justine,Me, Den, Laine, IDK him(hahaha!), Cellene
Fourth, I passed the nursing board exam. I’m pretty much happy with my board rating. You can’t imagine how nervous I was on the day of the results. I was 300x more nervous on that day than I was when taking the board exams. Exaggerated? NO! Those who took the board exam can agree with me. Am I right?

Print screen of my name in the list of passers.
Fifth, my father witnessed my oath taking(09-18-11) as a registered nurse. He was not able to see me marching on my graduation day last April but he was present when I was officially been considered as a registered nurse. It’s 100x more awesome! haha

Sixth, I have created so much memories this 2011 with my family and friends. Some of those were:
February 3. I went to Binondo with Denise, Cellene and Carlo to celebrate Lunar New Year. We ate authentic Chinese foods. I will never forget the black chicken!!haha Shanghai fried siopao is the best!

February 22. We also tried Thai food at Banana Leaf. For a change naman, haha. Break for a while from Korean restaurants.

August 6-16. Spent 10 days away from the city. Visited my Lola in Leyte with my family. Enjoyed the beach! Lechon FTW!

October 11. Dinner with F1 and F2. Happy but somehow sad because Mac will leave to Taiwan. Read my post about it, here.

October 23. Had a mini reunion with my high school classmates. Fun being with them again. Talking about our chosen fields and blah blah. :-)

December 15. Went to Korean Cultural Center with Denise. Read my post about it, here.

Thank you 2011 for giving me so much happy memories. 2011 has been an awesome year to me, I hope 2012 will be the same, or more awesome! I’m looking forward to create more memories on the year 2012. I”ll be turning 21 on 2012. So I made sure that I’ll be having a great 2012 by having my 2012 checklist, 365 day challenge and my dreamboard. Let us all reach our dreams! Let us make this world a better place. Don’t just think of yourselves. Do something for the environment, for other people. Remember, evilness starts with selfishness. Share what you can share.
“I will not give that which costs me nothing. For then, my sacrifice would be halfhearted.” -Edric Chen”
Smile more often. Be sincere when saying thank you. When you say sorry, mean it. Be more understanding. Be more patient. Be the best person you can be.
Let us leave all the negativity. Let’s face 2012 with positivity, peace, and hope. Make 2012 your year! Start your year right!
Happy New Year to you, you and you, you, you, you. :-))
God bless us all!

December 30, 2011. Rizal day.
1:40PM. LBC delivered something to our house. I did not order anything from online shops so I did not expect a package. Hmm. It must be from Laine and I’m right.

Kokology book[Hard bound; Two Volumes in One]
“Kokology is the game of self discovery, It is a series of psychological games designed to reveal your hidden attitudes about sex, family, love, work and more. “
Laine is so fond of sending me a package. Thank you for this best buddy, Laine. I really appreciate it! :-)
God bless you! Merry Christmas and a Happy new year Laine!

It’s been a long time since I spent time with Denise. Finally, we had time to meet. We went to Korean Cultural Center.
December 15, 2011.
Our meeting time is 1:30PM at Ayala MRT station but I was late! Aish. Arrive there around 2PM, not sure. I was late because I bought a Christmas card plus wrote a message before heading to MRT Cubao. Mianhe for being late Denise!
It’s my first time being in Taguig. We rode a bus going to Korean Cultural Center. KCC is near St.Lukes Global.
Denise is so familiar with the place since she’s always there. They had a dance practice that day.

This is what you’ll see upon entering KCC. Look at that wall clock! Kyeopta!
We stayed first at the KCC library. I did not read books! haha I browsed the Kpop albums. I really love how they conceptualize each album. I really like the 2AM limited edition album, it is so unique! It has a newspaper like poster plus a passport. Waah, it’s really cute.
After that, we ate at KFC. Snackbox plus spaghetti! I’m so gaya gaya. haha! Ginaya ko lang ang order ni Den. After that we went back to KCC. Took some pictures inside.
Photos care of Denise using my phone’s camera.

The SM entertainment bias TV! HAHA.

Around 4pm, we entered their dance hall (IDK what they call it). Advance dance class students were already there plus some of Denise’s friends from basic dance class. They are so friendly. Fun atmosphere. I’ve seen Dasuri, too. Dasuri is their dance teacher. She’s a Korean who used to be a trainee in JYP entertainment. She’s pretty! I watched them practice. I stayed until 8pm. It’s their graduation day on Dec17, Sat.

The advance dance class students having their practice.

SNSD :-) Denise is the one with the green bib. They’ll be dancing The Boys on their graduation day on the 17th of December.

Thank you for this photo Den!
I really had fun. Di mo mamamalayan ang oras. Thank you Denise! :-)
BTW, I’m a Primadonna (FT Island fan) and a Boice(CNBLUE fan). I do know most of Kpop groups. Now, I’m on semi hiatus. Yes, I’m now outdated. haha Actually, my first love is Kdrama. I’ve watched a lot of Kdramas even before they were aired in the Philippines. My love for Kdrama will never change. I’m a Minoz(Lee Min Ho fan). He’s my super duper favorite Korean actor! I download most of his dramas since BOF. I actually downloaded City Hunter which is almost a 15+GB file via torrent. Well, that’s how much I love Minho. He never fails to amaze me. City Hunter is really a must watch. You’ll never regret watching it. Each episode is so full of action scenes. Everything on that drama is so epic! Too much bragging about Lee Min Ho. Enough now. haha! Just watch it, and you’ll understand me. Read my post about City Hunter here.

9 days to go before Christmas!!

I really enjoyed being in KCC! Thank you Den(@dreamyheroine). Till next time! :-)

This blog entry is about simple secrets, solutions and strategies to improve study habits. I actually compiled everything I’ve searched before about effective studying habits, tips from my professors and my own studying habits.
I actually made this for my friend, Koliko, last April 25. I want to help her since she’s taking up medicine(course). I’ve also shared this to some of my friends like Sun-A Kim and Joyce Supnet.
Now, I’m sharing this to everyone. I hope just like them, this blog entry can help you in establishing your own healthy study habits.

1. Analyze yourself. Set your goals.
- Change bad study habits. Improve study habits. Make learning fun in your own way.
-Write down your goals and your objectives plus on how you would achieve those.
-Read those every night to remind you of what you are trying to achieve. This will make you more dedicated and will give you a feeling of self-fulfillment whenever you had achieved some.

2. Manage your time. Set priorities. Do your daily schedule. Activities should be balance.
*Study before doing anything unnecessary. One should STUDY BEFORE SURFING THE NET. DISCIPLINE IS A BIG CHECK! J
-In a day that you don’t have classes, spend time reading. Wake up at 4AM. (Research said that during this time retention is better.) Do “short frequent reading”. (2 hours of reading then 1 hour break. Then go back reading. Your brain needs a break.)
-Set a topic that you will read each day. You don’t need to force yourself reading an entire book each day because it will be useless because not everything will be retained.
-In a day after having classes, read the lecture that you’ve had that day. In that way, more information will be restored. This also prevents cramming during examinations. Cramming is not effective because lessons that you’ve studied will just be short-term. Reading lessons everyday after classes gives students long-term memory.

3. Exercise at least 30mins, 3x a week.
Rationale:
a.Physical exercise increases oxygen to your brain and reduces the risk for disorders that lead to memory loss, such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Exercise may also enhance the effects of helpful brain chemicals and protect brain cells.
b. Exercise promotes circulation at the same time gives you energy to study for long periods of time. You will be surprise on how much energy you will have if you do regular exercise.

4. Sleep well.
-Have at least 7 hours of sleep each day.
Rationale:
a. When you’re sleep deprived, your brain can’t operate at full capacity. Creativity, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills are compromised. *This is so true!!!! I’ve experienced 24-hours of no sleep because of our group work/presentation during our 2nd year days. Almost half of the class are sleepless. haha! We were pinching each other to keep ourselves awake. I really can’t absorb anything because my eyes wanted to shut. Nursing can make you realize that sleep is one of the precious things that life has to offer! :-))
b. Research shows that sleep is necessary for memory consolidation, with the key memory-enhancing activity occurring during the deepest stages of sleep.
*I really love to sleep. haha! Well, who doesn’t?

5.Eat nutritious foods.
a.It’s better to have small frequent feedings (6 small meals each day) rather than having 3 big meals.
b. Don’t skip BREAKFAST!
c. Eat foods rich in carbohydrates. For energy that lasts, choose complex carbohydrates such as whole-wheat bread, brown rice, oatmeal, high-fiber cereal, lentils, and whole beans.
d. Eat foods rich in omega 3 (salmon, tuna, mackerel, sardines etc.) Rationale: More and more evidence indicates that omega-3 fatty acids are particularly beneficial for brain health.
e. Limit intake of saturated fat (red meat, whole milk, butter. Cheese, sour cream and ice cream) Rationale: Research shows that diets high in saturated fat increase your risk of dementia and impair concentration and memory.
f. Eat more fruits and veggies. Rationale: Fruits and vegetables are packed with antioxidants, substances that protect your brain cells from damage
Vegies: spinach, broccoli, lettuce etc.
Fruits: mangoes, cantaloupe, etc.
g. Drink red wine or grape juice in moderation, cranberry juice, fresh grapes, berries and peanuts. Rationale: Keeping your alcohol consumption in check is key, since alcohol kills brain cells. But in moderation (around 1 glass a day for women; 2 for men), alcohol may actually improve memory and cognition.
*F.Y.I: I don’t drink alcoholic beverages. I don’t even smoke! I’m a good girl you know! :-)

6. Be happy.
a. Maintain healthy relationships with people.
b. Laughter is the best medicine. Be with happy people. They say that when a person is happy, there is better retention.
Rationale: Laughter involves multiple regions across the whole brain. .As psychologist Daniel Goleman notes in his book Emotional Intelligence, “laughter…seems to help people think more broadly and associate more freely.”

7. A big NO to STRESS.
Rationale: chronic stress destroys brain cells and damages the hippocampus, the region of the brain involved in the formation of new memories and the retrieval of old ones.

8. Pray.
Have faith. Prayers make wonders.
Other reminders:
1. Listen and focus on each lecture. Involve as may senses as you can for this helps in better retention.
Rationale: The physical act of rewriting information can help imprint it onto your brain. Even if you’re a visual learner, read out loud what you want to remember.
2. On difficult concepts, try to dissect it into simpler terms that you can easily remember and understand. In this way, you can retain the information longer rather than focusing on the broad concept.
3. Use mnemonics for easier memorization. With regards to normal values for different tests in medical field, you can write them and place them in the wall of your room. As day goes by, you will notice that you can recall the normal values easily because you see them everyday on your wall.
That’s it! Did this post help you? haha. Okay, you guys study well. :-)
Ciao!

As usual, MAINGAY kami! haha I think it’s somewhat forgivable because it’s been 7 months since the last time we had a get together.
Our gifts for Macy..

Posh Pocket Shoes|Bookmark[c/o Sam and I]|Frosty|Pics with personal messages[c/o Laine and I]|Card|
The idea of giving a pair of shoes was from me. I chose Posh Pocket Shoes because it will not take too much space in Mac’s luggage and she can use it in Taiwan plus it’s very comfortable to wear(because of it’s padded footbed)! :)

I ordered Liz, the red one.
